Words like hybrid and plug-in hybrid may all be Greek to you, but the difference is actually significant. So how do the Ford C-Max Hybrid and Ford C-Max Energi differ?
Let's start with what both do:
- Electric motor and gas engine work together to propel car
- Better fuel economy than gas engine alone
- Lithium-ion battery charges via regenerative braking
- 188 net horsepower
- Next-generation SmartGauge with EcoGuide dual-LCD screen customizable display shows your electric range, average mpg, etc.
The C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid has a larger battery than the C-Max Hybrid. To extend its all-electric range, you can plug it in to charge, and go farther without using a drop of gas. The C-Max Energi also offers three driving modes: Auto EV, EV Now, and EV Later, so you can control when electricity is used.
